Courage

Sometimes I wish I am braver,
and have the courage to blind me from all my fears,
to reach my dreams.

"Keep your heart open to dreams. For as long as there's a dream, there is hope, and as long as there is hope, there is joy in living."
- Anonymous

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you've imagined."
- Henry David Thoreau

"It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else."
- Erma Bombeck

"All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes to make it possible."
- T.E. Lawrence

"Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake."

Natural disasters

The earthquake and tsunami strikes again.
Hope there are no casualties this time.
Even though it's not possible, I still hope there will be no more natural disasters.
Or at least, don't come so often :(

And so worried for geok in Phuket :(
Just received news that thailand airport is open once again! \(^o^)/
Pray that geok & her friends return to Singapore safely!!!

Can't be rushed

Today is 4/4/12, and something special happened! ^-^

It was a girls day out with nini & geok, but something was slightly different.

This girl right here,
gave us another surprise!
she permed her hair!
me: "you tied ur hair to sleep yesterday?"
nini: "you used tongs to curl your hair today?"
geok: "you 2 sure? smell my hair"
After a while,
i realised... it's chemical smell!

"YOU PERMED YOUR HAIR?!"

Both of us had something up our sleeves. hehe

the day before nini & jeff's date on mon,
geok and I had been persuading nini to give it a try,
a chance for jeff and a chance for herself.
今天不懂明天事,
in life you just want to find a guy who is good to you.
And she admitted that she had feelings for him!
haha!
so geok & I were just adding oil to the spark.

After the monday date,
things were kinda changing...!
the 冰山满满的被劈开!

Geok & I decided to have a conference with jeff (with nini's consent),
to see what are their status after the monday date!

Geok & I acted like nini's parents lol!
"So, what do you think of our daughter?"
"What is your current status with our daughter"

After some "questioning", we decided to come up with a plan together!
Since we are going out on wed initially, we decided to use that night for the ultimate confession! haha!
some of our plans... well... are more suitable for proposal.. so...
save it for next time! haha!

we even created a whatsapp called "冰山大作战"
HAHA. geok said it sounds like some china scam. :(

of course nini isn't in the group initially

After our shopping, and jeff reached 313,
geok & I suggested going to Oriole for some coffee!

To make it more convincing, we acted like we don't know the restaurant!
"Elaine told me that there's one cafe that serves good coffee! But i don't know which one leh!
She said is the one outside! opposite some brazil resturant!"
lol!

Nini, usually being very gullible, of course believed us.
Went in and geok asked nini to go to the toilet with her.
Yes! at this time jeff came into the restaurant & I left with geok's bag!

geok & I acted in the whatsapp by saying
"omg, who got pad?"
"haha! i got! you want?"
"yes :( how to take?"
"Urms... nini! you come back and chop the seat! I go give geok"

THE THING IS, SHE IS TOO ENGROSSED TALKING WITH JEFF TO SEE THAT CONVO.
-.-
cause we said "did nini bring her hp?",
and jeff replied "yea, she chatting with me" -.-

But the plan still worked anyway,
nini went back and saw jeff sitting there.
BUT, she still did not feel anything fishy cause, she thought jeff just went to look for her after his job.
Until jeff told her the truth. -.-

AND YES!
that's how they got together!

Geok & I are satisfied parents aka cupids. lol!
Can't believed our plan worked!

Le happy girl

On a side note,
just that night, nini's already so in love,
and the next morning she's already so hyper and using a lot of "!" and heart shapes when talking to us.
like a 幸福小女人
AND haha! they are progressing WAYYYYY faster than what geok & I expected
when geok and I realise their pet name, we.... *COUGH*

BUT, no matter what, I'm still happy for them!
FINALLY after that tough 2 years of constantly being rejected by nini aka the ice berg,
they finally got together.

and now that geok and nini is attached, we're just one step away from triple dates!
Almost everyone in the clique is attached,
and my friends are all worrying about me being foreveralone.
LOL.

even so, i'm thankful for their concern and glad that I have them around ^-^

I really am not sad even though my friends are all attached and i'm still foreveralone. haha.
I believe some things can't be rushed, especially love.
Some people may be fortunate enough to meet their love during their early stages in life,
while some takes time.
When the time is ripe, the right one will appear! lol.

I feel loved now cause I know I have all my dear friends around me ^-^
And geok who's constantly worried about me being foreveralone during clique outings
and offers her time to accompany me :')
LOL.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST!
I hope nini & jeff will have a great, happy and lasting relationship,

AND HOPE WE'LL HEAR WEDDING BELLS SOON!
or.... babies crying...

which ever comes first.

LOL.

bye!

Happy ending to a sad story

My grandma and grandpa are reunited at last after near to 50 years on wednesday night.

The past 4 days was tiring,
waking up early, sleeping late, folding paper everyday, attending to guest, cleaning up, etc.

But I bet my uncle & dad are far more tired than me.
They barely slept.

The sorrow in my uncle's eyes and tears that stream down from aunt and cousins just makes this even more......

I got to know my cousins during these 4 days, even some that I have not seen before.
Saw many distant relatives and dad's long-time friends.
Kind of brought us all together.

Everything was fine.
Until today morning where the monk told us to see my grandma for the last time before they close the coffin.
Suddenly everyone's emotions started getting agitated? lol.

I looked at my grandma for the last time,
and I can still see a frown that stayed on her face despite the make up.
It made me imagine what could her thoughts be when she left,
or is she very painful when she left.

A lot of relatives started crying out loud during the cremate process.

It's very different from my past experience.
This is the first time I see someone cry during a funeral, weird enough.

My grandpa and grandma are placed together, finally reunited.
after the many years of bringing up their children by herself,
and these 7 to 8 years of suffering from many illnesses,
I guess this is a happy ending to a sad story.

Hope she finds peace wherever she go.
And may my uncle be able to live his life for himself from today onwards.

Hong Kong Day 1 !

Seeing that jos is so hardworking to blog about the hk trip,
I should blog too! lol!

I had fun this time round! ^-^
Visited the places that I didn't get to during the previous trip!
Like ocean park, get to taste 許留山 again, etc.

Nini, jeff & I went to the airport together,
and we had a hard time getting a cab at 4am in the morning!
The area around my house is TOTALLY QUIET.
Not a single vehicle in sight.

Met nini and finally hailed a cab!

Had a quick bite at subway after check in,
and boarded the plane! ^-^

Before the trip, nini and I actually saw someone's blog writing that
he don't get why would people save money on cab fare from the airport to hotel,
and carry the luggage up and down stairs, escalators, slopes and trains.

LOL.....
we're one of those people. haha!
I don't mind though!
It's a new experience! ^-^

Had to take shuttle bus from our plane to the airport cause..
yea..
budget airline.
but again! it's a new experience!

Reached airport & bought our octopus card!
It's like Singapore's ezlink card!
You'll have to put a deposit in though,
but you can get back the deposit after you return the card!

Went to city gate first since it's near to the airport.

Carrying our luggage everywhere!

Didn't manage to get anything in the end, so off we went to our hotel!

Saw sharetea so we bought it!

It's about a 10 mins walk to our hotel from the MTR!

Looks like a messy place, but eventually fell in love with the place.
It's a wet market in the morning selling vegetables & meat.
at night, it's a mini night market, selling clothes, shoes and many many other stuffs!

After many struggles, finally reached our hotel, Ovolo!
It's located at Sham Shui Po.

The hotel is GREAT!

Not only does the decor looks nice,
it's new, clean, great & fast service and it offers lots of free things!
If you ask for towels or shampoo, they'll get to you less than 5 minutes!
You get free drinks 24/7, even bottled drinks at their lobby.
And free alcohol from 6pm-8pm!

Even those drinks & food in the hotel or fridge is all complimentary! :O

Not to forget free WIFI!

We booked an apartment, with 3 rooms.
twin bed in 2 of the rooms and a single bed in the other room.
Was quite shock to get all these with the price we paid! ^-^

Our view from the hotel.
It's nothing crazy, but everything else in the hotel compensate for the view. haha

Put on make up and contacts while the boys are resting!

After settling down, we went to search for our dinner!

We tried Foo Lum at Jordan street after we saw someone saying that it's nice,
but....
kinda disappointing!
It's overpriced, and most of the dishes are... meh-
The suckling pig is the only dish that caught our taste buds. LOL.
but the medium size are.... kinda small for the 6 of us & it's not cheap too.
lol.
so we spent like $10-20 per pax for the dinner? I forgot :(

Went to eat 許留山 for dessert!
Drank their drink the last time I went to hongkong and fell in love with it! :O
So it's a MUST to try out if you're ever in HK! :D
And it's everywhere! so no worries if you do not know where to find one.

We went to Temple street afterwards.

Was kinda sad cause I had a bad stomachache!
& it's so hard to find a decent toilet! :O

But it's a nice little place to get souvenirs for your friends! ^-^
I think it's about the same as Ladies' market.

Went back to the hotel aftermath.

That's all for our 1st day!

Only realise now we didn't do much on the 1st day.
LOL.

Still had fun though!

Gonna blog about the next few days next time!

Going to geok's house for cooking session & stayover with vodka tomorrow!
Egg~~ cited! \(^o^)/
