Geok and I started on nini's present 2 months before her birthday!

Unexpected bahs! :D
When nini's birthday was nearing,
i told geok "I can't believe we started 2 months ago on nini's present"
geok: "Yea, and I can't believe we started 2 months ago and still haven't finished it till now!"
it was like... a few days before nini's birthday?
So I was wondering how geok and I managed to finish nini's present last year. -.-
OK!
So after a lot a lot of searching up and down throughout the 2 months
geok and I have decided to get this things for nini:
A decorated cardboard travel bag
A bikini
A DIY floral pocket shirt
I think the cardboard bag seriously is our greatest achievement.
It looks like this when we just bought it:

With all the materials inside! :D
We bought colour paper to paste over it,
painted it, glue felt, logo on it.
And even customised nini's lock and key with lace, ribbon and pink paint!
How detailed can we get! :D

We bought a pink paint to suit the colour paper that we were gonna paste.
and to our horror, the pink paint was totally translucent, and it was as if we didn't paint it in the first place.
So, i started digging for the dried up paints I have in my house.
Geok and I took 30 / 40 mins (?) to stir up the paint with water
Plus mixing the red paint and white paint to achieve the colour we were looking for.
And voila! the beautiful pink paint we were looking for! :D
And we started to paint it! :D

can't place the bag anywhere since it's 360 degrees covered in paint.. so had to hang it. haha!

And since we're going to paste the colour paper over it....

sew the felt, stick it inside, stick the colour paper outside, the lock & key.
For the instant photos, geok and I seriously searched high and low for a place to do that since cwp's closed.
and vista's prices is like mad high.
so... yea!

Our end photo doesn't looks like this. lols!
we faced some setback from the logo too.

the LV logo, geok used her super eye to copy directly from the LV web,
and we printed it out onto colour paper! :D
wanted to use totally gold paper, but the ink won't stay. :(
so wanted to make it like this instead...
But when you zoom in...
OMG! :O
So we went back to our old idea, and used brown paper instead.
with gold borders! :D
And.... *drum roll*
Ta-da! :D

For her tee shirt,
similarly, searched high and low for the materials! :O
in e end bought the merlion t-shirt at some souvenir store. LOLS.
Geok and I spent a day or more to take out the merlion stitches. :O

and we CUT plus sew nini's off-shoulder tee.
geok and I sew ours as a V-neck.
And sewed the cute floral pocket onto it!
I got pricked quite a few times since my skill isn't up to standard yet. -.-

shall train more on my sewing skills.... next time. :P
